Re: Diet for Breastfeeding
There really aren't any. Check with a Dr before taking medication and read Kellymom.com for info about drinking and BFing. But there aren't any food rules like there are with pregnancy.
My DCs both had / have cows milk sensitivities as infants, so I had to cut diary from my diet, but not until after they showed symptoms (mainly mucousy stool). Otherwise just eat healthy balanced diet and stay hydrated.
ETA: limit caffeine in the beginning too.

Diet for Breastfeeding
There are really no rules- my pediatrician recommends everything in moderation- he said to just watch DD and if she is fussy or has a change in stool then try to see if it is connected to something I ate.

Re: Diet for Breastfeeding
The only thing I'm mindful of is I continue to eat fish in moderation the way I did while pregnant, because of the mercury concern.

Oatmeal is a good supply booster - specifically Steel Cut Oats.

Re: Diet for Breastfeeding
My tips are:
Stay hydrated. Have lots of water and beverages with electrolytes like Smart Water or coconut water. Limit caffeine.
Eat:
Oats Protein
You may have to stay away from dairy if you find that LO has an allergy.

This. There are also teas. But, before you do this evaluate your flow. If you have an abundant flow with forceful let downs you will not want to eat or drink anything that helps flow.
Also as pp said, water staying hydrated is key!!! I drink a minimum of 48 oz of water a day.
