Did you/will you...

wash the rock and play insert, car seat, bouncer inserts, etc?

I dont know if I should do that or if it's unnecessary since it's new.

Re: Did you/will you...

I'm debating washing or wiping them down. I know people wash them, but I'm worried I won't get them back on right.

Re: Did you/will you...

I never washed new inserts to any seat or bouncer ect. before my children used them...UNLESS it was used prior.

me too! I wouldnt have thought to do it (since they are new), but have seen a lot of people on here say they do it.

Maybe I'll just wipe them down

Re: Did you/will you...

I didn't wash any of that stuff new. It was new so I didn't feel it was necessary.

Re: Did you/will you...

I didn't with DD and won't with the new stuff either. The only stuff I would think about washing is the hand me down stuff, but I know my BFF and sister washed everything before they gave it to me. I am mostly concerned about things that will come into contact with the baby's skin (trunk, etc)

Same here. I didn't like the thought of all the "factory-ness" all over it. I wanted it fresh and clean for my baby!

No...personally I thinking washing everything is silly-- I DID wash all the clothes bc my DH made a stink but honestly I feel like it is uneccessary.

I didn't. I only washed them in between DC 1 and DC 2 because they were in the basement.

Re: Did you/will you...

i will probably wipe everything down, especially the car seat. not sure if you saw the thing on healthystuff.org about chemicals found in car seats, but i'd like to try clean as much of that as possible (even if it doesn't come "off", at least i can feel like i tried).

interesting fact i learned today is that all those chemicals are from using flame retardants on car seats, which is required by law. most strollers don't have similar chemicals because the law doesn't require strollers to be flame retardant.
