Did You Register For a Diaper Pail System?

I had the Diaper Genie with my first and hated it so I never used it. I just put the diapers in a plastic grocery bag and threw them out. Since the baby's room is upstairs this time around, I registered for the Diaper Dekor so I don't have to walk downstairs everytime I change a diaper. Is this a good diaper system? I went to BRU today and was completely clueless as to what to get! What did you register for?

I registerd for the champ too b/c you can use regular kitchen (white) garbage bags, but I hear the dekor keeps the odor better.

I did too--I think because Baby Bargains recommended it! I feel like I'll listen to anything they say!

Re: Did You Register For a Diaper Pail System?

nope, pee and poo diapers have always gone from diaper changes to kitchen garbage and that garbage goes out every night.

I didn't want diaper sausages(diaper genie) or pee or poo lying around the house and piling up, no matter what container it was in. It still smells.

But that's just usChat Icon

They sell one that uses regular trash bags, I used the same one with my first. I found it useful and wonderful. I didn't have to keep up with special bags and I could put whatever trash bag I had in there...didn't matter. I ended up buying a really big "roll" of the ruffies [cheapest bags out there] and it worked wonderfully.

The others seemed more like a way to keep you spending money on their product...special bags at a much higher price...

I had one, it went into the attic at 3 months. I wished I had spent my money on something that was useful.

Once you start solids, you don't want that poo sitting around ANYWHERE except outside in the trash! Whooo whee...its like man poos!!!

Diaper Champ for the reasons stated - uses any plastic bag and was highly rated in Baby Bargains.

It's not like it costs a fortune so I am not too concerned - if I don't like it oh well. It's not like getting a carseat or stroller you don't like...

With the Genie FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND you have to buy THEIR bags. Which means you are constantly spending more $$. And it didn't get such good reviews in the Baby Bargains book.

Re: Did You Register For a Diaper Pail System?

I did not register for one.

I don't like dirty diapers in trash cans. I will just put them in a regular plastic bag (grocery bag) and dispose of them immediately. Chat Icon

I have this, it was ok in the beginning but then you could start to smell the poop diapers after while, so we just decided to not use it and just throw the diapers in the kitchen garbage bag since it goes out every night, worked out better. Chat Icon

Re: Did You Register For a Diaper Pail System?

You know, Diaper Champ is way better than Diaper Genie. I also had the Genie with my first and hated it, but my SIL has the Champ and it is awesome!

Re: Did You Register For a Diaper Pail System?

So what's better? The Diaper Dekor or the Diaper Champ??

(other than having to buy special bags for the Dekor?)
