Yes, outside is done and so is inside. We are going to wait until next week to get the tree. We get a live one and I want it to last till Christmas...if we get it too soon it will die! I love this time of year!!!

Menorahs go up on the first night of Chanukah.
Is that your tradition or the general rule? I have to buy one for my office, and I'm not sure when to put it out.

nope not yet :( I'm dying to start decorating, but DH thinks it's still too early and I kinda agree. It's just so hard when everywhere you go there is holiday music and decorations up! Next weekend I'm going to decorate inside and then probably the following weekend DH will put the lights up :) We won't get our tree until the the weekend of the 14th/15th probably.

The tree is up, but I found that 1/2 a strand of lights is out!  I have extra little bulbs, but not enough for all of them. 
I do have strands of clear beads instead.
I don't really need lights, do I?

I put up the stockings, the poinsettas and candle lights in my bay window and I decoratde my side table in the living room with my snow man collection.
I will do the other stuff (tree and outside lights) with dh little by little during the week.

nope.
i raked all weekend and there are still leaves
i did bring in the fake pumpkins and the wheat wreath.
i'll be doing christmas decorating next weekend. loooking forward to it!

I purchased the dreidels in a store - a few different sizes - covered them in glue and then glitter - pain in the butt and a huge mess.
As far as the menorah goes, I dont think there is a rule per se, it is just what I do. I have an electric one for the window to be seen by people on the outside. I also have one for inside my home. I SOMETIMES, leave the one in the window lit a day or two longer past the holiday.
In a few days as we get closer to Chanukah, I will post the methods for lighting candles as well as pictures. It can be informative and helpful.
