did you change doctors?
I've been thinking about this for a bit. I feel like I've spoken to a lot of people that change their ob/gyn when they are TTC, why is this? Is there some heirerarchy of doctors?
Currently I see a PA and I'm pretty comfortable w/her, granted there are 4 other dr.'s in the practice but does it make a difference?
Am I totally lost and sound stupid?

Re: did you change doctors?
First of all, I know you personally and KNOW you are NOT stupid!
As for your question... If you are happy with the treatment you are receiving with your current doctor, don't switch.
The only reason I did was b/c we moved too far away from my original doctor. If I still lived near by, I wouldn't have switched.
I think sometimes women switch if they need to see a fertility specialist but that's the only reason I could think of switching.

Re: did you change doctors?
Yes, I did. I had gone to the same GYN for years for my regular check ups.....and thats all they were; check ups.
I never really liked her only b/c every time I saw her, I usually saw her assistant and never the Dr. Of all the years going I may have seen the real Doctor about 3 times. I also had to wait minimum a hour and half every time. Absolutely rediculous.
So I made a promise to myself to switch when we decided TTC.......and I love the practice I switched to and my doctor. And there are also 4 other doctors just in case one isnt available.

this was the reason I switched to this office.
thanks girls. I guess I'm good then, I just wanted to make sure there was no underlying reason people switched.

Re: did you change doctors?
For me, I wasn't happy with my OB but I only saw them once a year so it didn't matter. But since I am going to be PG soon, god willing, I really can't see myself going through a labor and pregnancy with that practice. So I switched to a midwife. But then when I micarried and needed care that was out of the scope of practice for a midwife I went back to the OB But it further solidified that I don't like the practice. So when I get PG again I will go back to the midwife.
