did that seriously just work???
I have had the toughest time getting DS down to bed tonight; he fell aseep while I was nursing him after dinner so I brought him upstairs at 6:30 instead of 7PM. We went through his normal routine (lotion, PJs, book, sing, bed) and he seemed to be going down fine, then about 10 minutes later he starts fussing - after 15 minutes of him fussing and whining I go up to check and he had pooped.
I change him, put him down and he starts screaming bloody murder! This is totally not normal for him, he doesn't scream. For the next 1.5 hours, I'm going back and forth, rocking him, letting him scream, nursing hm , letting him scream patting him etc.
Finally I just decided RESET! I took him out of his crib, and started his normal bedtime routine over again and wouldn't you know it he goes straight to sleep!
Why did it take so long for me to figure that one out!  I feel so much better now, I can't stand to hear him cry **phew**

It's all trial and error. The key is that you don't give up and try to figure it out.

Thanks ladies! Looks like this boy is going to be like his Daddy, he loves routine
I will certainly remember this for next time
