Seriously thinking about NOT going back to work and be a WAHM and babysit

So, I have been seriously reconcidering going back to work. I really don't want DS to go to daycare.

So... I have been thinking about babysitting/be a nanny at home.

If you know anyone who is looking for a nanny/babysitter, please let me know.

I would prefer a PTschedule but would be OK with a FT schedule starting in mid-September/October.

Let me know if you know anyone who would be interested. I am centrally located in Eastern Nassau.

This is what I will be doing too.
My summer PT job ends tomorrow. Im keeping my other PT job and come Jan. I will be watching my cousins baby when she goes back to work.

Works out perfect because I get to stay home. If I can handle it and really like it, I may take on more babies. We shall see.

I wish I knew someone doing this in FL, Miami - where I live!

This sounds like a great thing for you! Boy, I wish you were closer, I'm looking for someone 2 days a week when I go back to work in a month, but I'm in Eastern Suffolk, it would be too far It would have been perfect timing too :(

My girlfriend's mom did this for YEARS - made some good money and still keeps in touch with the family.

I worked with my 1st two children however when I had my 3rd I decided to stay home also and babysit. The cost to put to children in day care would be what I would be making if I worked. I enjoy being home w/ my children and I am glad I had the opportunity to. Good Luck.

I too stay home with the kids and babysit
I am lucky because I get to watch my nephew and get paid to do it

My friend is doing this. She left her teaching position and will now be watching two kids (dropping/picking one up at preschool) and she is able to bring her own daughter.

My mother did this for years. It worked out great. I would love to do it, DH isn't sold. My apt is small and DH works nights...so I would go to their house to watch the kids...then DH feels like he would never see me or Josh
