Did anyone wait past 12 weeks before telling work?

For some reason my DH thinks i should longer than the 12 weeks. Just wondering if anyone else waited longer, and why?

The longest i'll probably wait is 13-14 weeks, just to get test results back.

Re: Did anyone wait past 12 weeks before telling work?

I waited until about 16/17 weeks (I think I was 16w5d) to tell work. I was going to push it until 20 but I the cleaning lady asked me if I was preggo so I went right into my boss's office and came out.

I didn't really have a reason to wait that long...just wanted to keep it private as long as I could.

I am waiting. I'm 13 1/2 weeks right now and I'm probably going to tell them the day before Thanksgiving. I don't have a reason.....just wanting to keep it private for the time being. I haven't really popped yet or gained weight so I don't think anyone is suspicious.

I agree with MamaPapaBear - tell when you are ready.

I am planning to wait until I clear the first trimester - so I plan to tell my manager around 14 weeks.

If she starts to look at me suspiciously, then I will tell her sooner.

With my first I waited until 14/15 weeks to tell my manager.

I think i was 16 weeks...I'm a teacher, so I waited until I started going back end of August to get my room set up...a couple of close coworkers knew, and I wanted the principal to hear from me prior to the school year starting and everybody knowing.

Re: Did anyone wait past 12 weeks before telling work?

I’m prob going to wait until I start to show. I am really, really afraid to tell my boss. I work in two girl office, but they let the other girl go in May, so it’s just been me. He made a comment the other day that he wants to keep it a one girl office for as long as we can. So, when I tell him, I know he’s going to freak that we have to hire someone else, etc…

I'm going to wait until I start to show.

I'm mostly just waiting until we are out of the first trimester, plus I am dreading telling the office in general. Chat Icon

I waited until I thought I was starting to show so I didn't do it until I was almost 18 weeks.

Don't feel like you have to rush. Let them know when you're ready and comfortable.

I told at 13 weeks. I wanted to make sure my grandmother was the first to know as far as extended family and friends. We told her after my 12 week ultrasound and then I told work after that.

With both I told around 12-13 weeks. I was just tired of being secretive with everyone. Wait as long as you feel comfortable, there's no requirement.

This is me too. I'm 12 weeks (as of yesterday) and I've told a few work people who have all been soo happy, but I think I'm anticipating comments from others because DD is 1.5 years old. I'm not sure if comments will even be made but I don't want to deal with them if they are. Chat Icon

I really have no idea when I wil tell as I am not showing at all.

With my first pregnancy, I didn't tell work until 16 weeks. This time around I told my boss at around 12-13 weeks. I let everyone else just figure it out Chat Icon

I told the owner around 16 weeks, one or two of my staff around 18 weeks. The rest found out when I was 23 weeks.
