did anyone else have a breakdown today

i have been really good at faking my holiday spirit...so far i thought i was doing good

got through the babies on the cards..all the fb status saying next year i will have my baby at christmas..the fact this is the 2nd christmas where baby was one on my list and still we r without one..

i really held it on bc dh is a christmas fanatic and i did not want to ruin anything..

so today we r exchanging gifts and he gives me a box and says don't get upset..just wishful thinking

i open it and it is like 10 onsies..with all cute sayings and sports logos etc..

i just lost it..i think it just built up and exploded..i let it all out for what felt like forever and then i felt so bad bc dh felt bad when all he did was something so nice

ugh..i am just thankful holiday season is over

Re: did anyone else have a breakdown today

I was really preparing myself for the worst. Christmas eve was going to be the DH's family for the first time and there is like a billion kids and one on the way. I got a little choked when I found out that news but I was surprisingly ok. Then this morning we went to DH's again to open gifts with this siblings and their kids. I was surprised again that I was just having a good time. We finished up around 11:30am we packed up our stuff and left for my parents house. We got in the car, put it in reverse and I started hysterically crying. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Guess I was hiding it very well, I even fooled myself.

Re: did anyone else have a breakdown today

It's not really Christmas that does it for me this time of year... It's my first baby's due date on January 18th. I remember last year I was sooooooo hoping to be pregnant again by his due date. Well, that cycle I had a chemical, and this time around.. well.. ya know..

It never dawned on me that I'd pass his due date a 2nd time around and STILL not be pregnant or have a baby in my arms. Chat Icon

I used to love this time of year. My DH and I met in December.. and it's also the month he proposed to me (obviously not the same year Chat Icon ) .. Then we were due to have our baby around now.. This time of year once had very happy connotations... but I will never forget how I was getting a sono for my latest pregnancy with Christmas music in the background while we received yet another round of devastating news.

As far as being sad this time of year, as you can see... I am right there with ya...

i didn't have a breakdown, but i've been in a horrible mood all week. i feel like such a scrooge, but i can't help it - it feels like christmas has lost the magic it held when i was a kid... and i just want to start a family of my own, to bring it all back. i'm the youngest in my family by a lot - so my nieces and nephew aren't young anymore (11, 15 & 17) - my brother is now separated, my sis never married and dh is an only child - our family seems to be getting smaller and growing apart and i just want a housefull of children so bad Chat Icon when dh asked me what i wanted for christmas, all i kept saying was "a baby - and if i can't have that, nothing else matters" - i meant it with all my heart. i found 3 rolls of wrapping paper i bought the day after christmas last year, bc i was sure i'd need to wrap presents from 'santa' this year Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon i will be starting an infertility work-up with the doctor this cycle. thank goodness the holidays are over, i just want to move on with a new year.

No breakdowns but I hate everyone. I don't want to see 8000 photos of your kids in Christmas Pjs because it's like a slap in the face at this point.

Then I watched a marathon of one born every minute and that show always makes me laugh and cry equally.

Spending all that time with family (and hosting) was a better distraction than I thought it would be.

BUT..we got DH's cousin a BBB gift card for his family secret Santa and when his wife saw it she said, "Oh Buy Buy Baby, what are you guys trying to say" (I guess it works at a bunch of stores). Anyway, I'm thinking, definitely NOT that and I thought I was going to get all emotion.

But I kept cool. Hopefully it'll be the last holiday where I need to show this kind of restraint and composure.

Christmas eve I watched a few episodes and cried thru all of them! All I kept thinking was when will I get to experience seeing my baby for the first time.Chat Icon
Surprisingly Christmas day wasn't emotional for me....spent the day first by DH's fam and then by my parents house. No babies around and no one asked us about having babies.

Yes!

Yesterday morning as DH and I opened gift I thought what is the chance of us having a baby next year....and over the fact that my poor nephew's mother ran away from home to be with her boyfriend and is missing everything this 3 year old does!

Yesterday night because a girl I graduated with who got married a year after us is having twins.

Can I take down my Christmas tree now?

Aw that's terrible that she did t spend Christmas with her son. That's such great Christmas age!

OT, but when you hear twins do you automatically wonder if they did IF treatments? I always wonder although I do know people who have twins naturally.

And OBEM- that show gets me everytime. :( I also get really really choked up when there is a complication or if the baby doesn't cry right away.

I automatically thought IUI or IVF! Isn't that bad?!?!? I know 2 older ladies with twins in their 30s...that is it.

Its not bad. A lot of times its true. I can't tell you how many people I talk to and it eventually comes up they had IF issues whether they have twins or not.
