I didnt register for one bc I just dislike the whole diaper sitting in the room thing, but a friend is giving me hers so I'll try it out

Re: Diaper pail- yay or nay?
I registered for one and received it for one of my showers. I know a lot of people who love them and others who dont. I guess it's all personal preference.

Re: Diaper pail- yay or nay?
It seems like people are pretty split, they either love them or hate them. I didn't bother getting one and just picked up a small step on can at Target for $13. It's the right size for a grocery bag, seals pretty tightly, and I figure we can just empty at the end of each day.

Re: Diaper pail- yay or nay?
I registereed for one. I just don't want o have to walk down the stairs to the garbage everytime I change the diaper if I don't have to. I think what Mrs. T got is probably good enough. As long as it has a cover, it will ssomewhat hide the scent. My sister has one in her DS room since it's upstairs as well - and it works well covering the scent as well unless its filled, when it's time to change it anyways.

Re: Diaper pail- yay or nay?
It was much easier when we changed from a diaper genie to a regular old garbage pail with a scented garbage bag....we took out the diapers a lot sooner with a garbage pail than when it was in the special pail.... by then they stunk to ungodly odors!

I registered for one. My sister and close friends have/had them and loved them, so I went with their opinions.

Re: Diaper pail- yay or nay?
I never wanted one in the room. We toss them in the regular garbage which gets taken out pretty much once a day. I like it better then having only diapers sitting in their room taking longer to fill up and get rid of.

Re: Diaper pail- yay or nay?
No! Don't have one! I did for my first baby and it was so gross leaving dirty diapers pile up. and it does smell and its 1000x worse when emptying.
We use the disposable diaper sacks to put dirty diapers in, they go in the closed kitchen garbage and it's taken out every night.

Re: Diaper pail- yay or nay?
We have the Diaper Genie and I like it. It doesn't smell at all (yet?). We do not create nearly enough garbage for it to make sense to take the kitchen one out every day and I'm not walking my butt down to the garage every time he goes. If I hadn't gotten it at my shower though I probably would have just done a small regular can with a tight lid.

Re: Diaper pail- yay or nay?
I registered for one...and then after soooo many people telling me that they didnt work and that they are a waste of money...I took it off. I am planning on getting a regular garbage can instead and changing it regularly.

Re: Diaper pail- yay or nay?
I registered for one... My thoughts are you go through sooooo many diapers and i clearly wont be able to run outside to the garbage every single time i change a diaper... And i dont want stinky diapers sitting in my garbage all day stinking up the house... Plus the pail controls odors...

Re: Diaper pail- yay or nay?
Our dog uses wee wee pads so we take the garbage out daily, if not every other day so we passed on it. We also live in 1000 sq ft condo so its no biggie to throw them out in the kitchen!

Re: Diaper pail- yay or nay?
Nah --- I didn't have one with DD. I just kept all of our small plastic shopping bags...like the plastic bags from Walgreens and stuff and would put stinky diapers in there and would throw them out the front door and whoever went out first brought them out to the big trashcan. So maybe it's gross to have stinky diapers on the front step for an hour or two before someone dropped it in the can...but...it was better then having them in the house!

Didn't with DS or DD, nor will I now. I think they are one of the grossest things ever invented. I know a few people that wouldn't go without one, but its not for me.

I have one from DS but it broke ~ Now it is just like a regular garbage can ~ I am just going to put the target bags in there and change at the end of each day.

Re: Diaper pail- yay or nay?
I had the diaper champ when DD was born. It was out of her room before she was one. It seemed like it just absorbed the smell and it just got worse and worse. We just take the diaper with us when we leave the room and get rid of it.
So this time around, I am not going to use one.
