Diaper Champ vs Diaper Genie. Opinions Needed!
Does anyone have any opinions on which one is better? I forgot we needed a diaper pail and am trying to figure out which one to get.

My sister has the Diaper Genie and hates it. She stopped using it very early on. She said when you open it to take out the diapers the odor is enough to kill you. She switched to the blue bags that BRU sells for individual diaper disposal.

I havent seen that good of reviews on any of them actually.
I'm not getting one...I think I'd like to remove the poop from the house immediately rather than let it fester in the pail in the babys room.

That funny how many people don't like it, because I remember when it came out every new mother HAD to have it!!! It was the biggest thing.
Now I'll have to rethink it.

I've heard bad things about the Genie. I have had a few friends w/ kids highly recommend the Diaper Champ, so that's what we went with -- but I have no experience with it yet, so I can't speak of it firsthand!

i have the diaper champ and its been good holding in odors and its great because you can use any garabage bags.
I usually buy the vanilla scented kitchen bags for it.

My SIL had the diaper genie and said it was a waste of money. She just uses the diaper garbage bags from BRU and takes it right to the trash.

I have the champ and 2 weeks in, I LOVE IT.
it uses regular sized trash bags. genie bags are a RIP OFF. i bought a bag of ruffies and so far I'm on bag #3. and i can't smell a thing...and he's had some AWFUL diapers!
i saw a woman buying 2 genies yesterday and of course bags...if she hadn't had about 40 other items and already annoying me by holding up the line, i would've given her some advice. i'll let her suffer on her own. evil, but she was annoying.

That is what I plan on doing as well. I don't keep my poop stored anywhere, why would I keep baby's? I'll just throw out my regular garbabge more often.

We had the Genie and it seemed to do its job but having to buy specific bags for it was a pain and got expensive.

I said other. Once they start eating food the poop really smells and nothing will contain it. We put dirty diapers in a plastic bag and toss into the kitchen garbage, which goes out every night.

We use the blue bags as well. I didn't like the idea of poop diapers sitting around, so I figured just a regular pail would force us to take it out each night - and for the most part we do. And the blue bags really do work super well!

ITA. I like the champ a lot. AND it is in my living room and you can't smell a thing.

I love the Diaper Dekor Plus...however, I dont put "poopy" diapers in it. I found that if you do, when you open it to put another diaper in it, the smell knocks you on the floor!
For poopy diapers, I put them in a plastic grocery bag and put it outside right away

Good idea with the scented bags. I love that you dont need to buy special refill bags.
