DH vent, anyone???
Anyone feel like DH just doesn't GET it??? I'm about 4-5 days away from my egg retrieval, and I feel, let's say....less than supported by DH. I'm not saying I deserve a parade or anything, but this is hard. I'd like him to at least acknowledge that and ask how I'm doing.
But the reason why I'm ready to kill him right now is b/c he has a crazy job w/crazy hours, and he left for work last night and hasn't been home yet....and didn't bring his antibiotics with him that he's supposed to take every day. When I told him he has to come with me to tomorrow's appt to learn how to give the HCG shot, he got all annoyed b/c he was supposed to work overtime. Seriously???
Part of me is so scared this isn't going to work b/c I just want to kill DH, and that doesn't seem like optimal conception circumstances
Vent over, but I open this up to you ladies, now. Want to vent about DH, too? It will make me feel better and maybe we can laugh at each other's!

Re: DH vent, anyone???
I hear what you are saying. Part of me feels that DH does not fully understand what I am going through. But deep down I know that this whole thing has taken a toll on him as well. I try to stay as positive during this whole thing, but sometimes it just gets ya, and sometimes I say to myself how about u stick urself, have someone stick something up your who ha blah blah blah....its prob just the emotions Hang in there, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!
I think we all feel this way at some point

While I really can't complain about my guy, he is perpetually cheerful and positive and that makes me want to smack him on the head with a remote sometimes. But I love him!

Re: DH vent, anyone???
my DH was always very supportive during IVF, but i dont think they truly realize the toll it takes on us while it's going on. its one of those things that they realize even more after the fact. DH has thanked me a lot lately for going through what i went through (both IF and my crazy birth) to bring into the world. yesterday we walked by a ceremony at cohens childrens hospital that was celebrating donations to their new wing. DH turned and said to me "I wish we had the kind of money that would allow us to donate to things like this. If I had that kind of money I would donate it all for infertility." I think it was that moment that I realized how this journey meant just as much to him as it did to me. They may not feel our physical pain and they may not express it at the time, but IF hits them hard too.
He gets it, he just needs time to realize that. Good luck!!

Re: DH vent, anyone???
My DH has crazy hours also and in the city so when they say oh yeah well we cant tell you what day ET will be he gets bananas. Hes a planner and doing things at the spur of the moment make him nuts. Hes always come thru when he was needed but he vents about it all the time.
