DH Vent Again!
Sometimes I wonder if he even realizes that I am pregnant? 
I am 37w4d. I was told by my doctor to relax and stop working. My mother, aunts, grandparents, friends all call to make sure I am taking it easy. DH calls me from work today and asks what I am doing. I tell him I did two loads of wash, dishes, cleaned the bedroom and the bathroom. His response? WHat else are you planning on doing? UUUMMM I don't know I was thinking of running a marathon too!
Then Monday is supposed to be my last day at work. I commute four hours a day to the city. Again Dr said I should stop working, family, friends all call concerned about the commute. I tell DH I don't think I am going to go in on Monday. (He doesn't work on Mondays) His response? Why? Don't you have things to do? I was looking forward to having one last day by myself.
Are YOU KIDDING ME???????
I swear when I married him he was NOT this insensitive!
Is it me????

Just shrug it off right now and take care of yourself. It sounds like he may be getting scared by the upcoming changes the baby will bring. Maybe after you both claim down, sit down and talk to eachother about the baby and all the fears and dreams you both have. Feel better.

Many men don't get it - seriously. They have no idea how we feel. they see a bigger belly and that's all that has changed. They have no idea how uncomfortable it is to have a person inside of you.
I'm sorry that he doesn't get it. Hang in there. Make sure to takle whatever help is offered to you by other people. It's a hard thing to do but take the help - people really do want to help.

Are you serious? How did you get "he is scared" out of her post? He's got to get a clue because it won't get easier. Can't be so selfish with a baby.

Men are so insensitive sometimes. They think you can just push through it and act like everything is completely normal.

I've definitly had those fights with DH .. where I did as much as I could and he comes home and he's like well yes u did this, this, and this but what about that, that, and that .. kind of feel like saying you see how you feel with a baby in you doing all these chores and see if you can manage to get it ALLL done at once... ughh men they just don't understand sometimes

I too got that your DH could be overwhelmed (in a way only men could be) by the upcoming changes. Sometimes I wonder if my DH has a clue when he does/says certain things and overall he's been pretty supportive during my pregnancy, however, I also think he believes I'll be working till the minute the baby's head pops out! I've laughed in the past when he gets the sniffles and takes the day off from work if I try to do the same he has questioned it in the past. To them our lives are easier, to us their's is. Just how it seems to me. I agree though that they don't know just how uncomfortable and how much sacrifice carrying a baby can be.

Your attack at my post is unnecessary. Let's keep the drama off this board.
This is were I get he is scared from. According to her post, he has only started to act out like this recently. Many men have difficulty dealing with and understanding their feelings. Sometimes they deal with it by not dealing. It seems he is acting as if everything is as it ever was and he does not have any reason to adjust his approach to the situation. I never said it was right or should continue. I just believe that communication can help in many situations and this may be one of them.
