DH!--UPDATE!!
So DH usually gets home around 1:30-2 PM EVERY DAY. He made me make an early appt and we were hoping to find out what the baby is today.
Now he can't make it because of work!! He never speaks up and I'm sure when they put him on this other job he said nothing about having an appt today!!
Now I have to go by myself!!
Did everyone have their DH with them when they found out?? I'm so upset, because I don't want to wait, but I really want him to be there. 
UPDATE: So I went and I tried to stall as much as possible and when I got to the doctor the waiting room was PACKED!! Score!! So DH was able to make it to the appointment because I waited an hour!! I was so happy he made it.
When the baby came up on the screen the money shot was right in our face!! We are having a GIRL!!!! 
Laila Gabrielle!!!! Yeh!!!!
BTW...really good idea about the envelope thing. Now I know I can do that for next baby if the situation arises.

My mom missed my Level II sono and if Icould do it over, I would wait for her to be there.

What about having the tech write down the baby's sex and put it in an envelope. Then, you can open it when you are together. Make a special night of it- go out for a nice dinner or something. Then you can both share in the excitement of finding out together.
Try not to be too hard on him- I'm sure he's feeling pretty bad that he can't be there.

This is what we did b/c we were still undecided if we wanted to find out. it was very special...
