DH just stopped a drunk driver
picture this- a midnight jog around queens is interupted by the sound of metal hitting metal
you look up and see a car coming and hit a parked car
you see a cop- you stop the driver- you get the cop
THE COP LETS THE DRIVER GO AFTER HE HITS A PARKED CAR
you run home, get your wife and your car- you go out looking for the guy- his car was barely movable- you find him
car running in the parking lot
you go to tell 911 the number of the car he hit
and he driving again
you follow him
him almost hits 5 cars
you block him in
on the phone with 911
DH takes his keys and chucks them
better cops come
bye bye drunk driver
the end!

Wooo!!! That is kind of dangerous on your part. You never know how this guy might of acted. He could of had a gun on him. There is alot of crazy people in this world.
I can see how your DH felt though!! I hate drunk drivers.

DH is brave
he is also 270 lbs and a former bouncer
I was shaking
but this is our hood- and my car has been hit while parked
and more importantly kids walk around this area- we have a movie theater and tons of resturants- there are always kids walking around
he could have killed someone
it was scary- but it was the right thing to do
DH couldn't believe it when he saw the guy driving again after hitting the first car

no idea
Jake thought they were arresting him- so he jogged away- when he came back around - Jake saw him driving holding is bumper 
(our neigborhood is a circle)
ETA- DH talked to the guy at this point- and realized how drunk his was
we thought he was going to sleep it off in the parking lot
so our plan was to get the plate number for the car that was hit
but once he started moving- we weren't going to let him kill someone

i know your trying to do the right thing in all, but you don't know how crazy people are...you don't know if they have weapons in the car, you don't know he could ram you with his car...you just don't know...
i question the first cop in this thing...
i commend what you did but very dangerous...let the police handle it...

Why did he get you? That was dangerous...Im old school but he should have went alone if he wanted to go...
Its a great thing he was concerned and Im glad it turned out the way it did but thats scary.

gad that you were able to stop the driver...but like others said.....please never do that again!! its such a dangerous thing...especially if you never know about how the person in the car will react!

I am absolutely in shock that the first cop just let him go! I hope someone reports him.
Your husband did a great thing by possibly saving more than one life. I'm glad that nobody was hurt in the process
