DH has Ringworm! What does that mean for me?

I cannot find ANYTHING on the internet about this. My husband got ringworm, we have no idea how... I do not have it, but now Im concerned about getting it. In fact Im completely paranoid! I dont know if I should call my dr to ask her what to do?

He spoke to the pharmacist who gave him antifungal cream and as per the internet putting bleach on it dries it out so he just did both...

But does anyone know if I should be concerned? Can it harm the baby in any way? Any other precautions we should take? We already have separate towels and I wont go anywhere near that area or anything...

Make sure it is covered and continue not to share towels and such.

I would recommend that dh goes to the doctor, I had caught it when I was a camp counselor years ago, even though i used RX cream right away it kept coming up on other spots on my arm. I ended up needing to take oral medicine so it would go away and stay away.

I also heard that bleach is not good for you.

I don't know about any risks to the baby, I would definitely ask your OB. I do know that ringworm to me always sounded much worse than it really is. I always thought it was a parasite or a worm in your arm (eww!), but it is just a fungal skin infection. It usually goes away with a topical cream. I never heard of bleach. I would stay away from that if I were you.

That stinks!! I'd call your ob and see what they say. When I googled it though i found it wasn't a risk to the baby. Im not a fan of using a bleach though. When my DD had a wart the derm recommended raw apple cider vinegar, it worked great! I'd probably look into your DH apply that topically and I'd wash and dry everyrhing on hot to kill the fungus. I always add some tea tree oil to our laundry, it's a safe alternative to bleach. Good luck!!

Thank you! Im going to call ob to be safe. And just keep my distance from dh... I also told him to not put bleach on it and ill take him to.our derm tomorrow...
