DH goes back to work tonight...I'm officially going to be alone with DD
I can't believe it's been almost a month already. DH has been with me every night since I gave birth, and I got used to sleeping next to him and being with him every day. Although he did get on my nerves a couple of time, now that this day has arrived, it's almost bittersweet. He goes back tonight and (he works the midnight tour until 8am). I am sad, and a little nervous, because now is when I will be doing everything. While he was here, we were somewhat sharing the feedings, but now he won't be here to help, and once he gets in from work, he'll need to sleep. Why can't he be home with me until I go back to work...

I can sympathize...DH was only home for a week after I got home from the hospital, but it was nice having him home and sharing in the duties of taking care of the baby and the house...now he's back at work (2 jobs) and he leaves by 7am and doesn't get home until at least 9 or 10pm...
It's hard, but it does get easier...and it makes me appreciate the time he is here more...
You'll be okay - it's tough at first, but you'll get used to it...and in the meantime we're here for you!

My DH was only home with me for 2 days and he was useless. However, I had my mom with me for 2 weeks and the day she left I was crying. I've been alone for the past 2 days and it really hasn't been bad. You'll get used to it in no time!

I hear ya but you will be ok. I had the same thing DH works 6-2am and I cried and cired when he went back I had my sister stay with me the first couple of nights I was freaking out(I had a touch of PP) but I made it and so will you!!

i know EXACTLY how you feel. dh stayed home with me for a month too and i had MAJOR anxiety about him going back to work and leaving us alone BUT you actually get used to it pretty fast and once you get your own routine down you'll feel better, even if you do miss him.

it was bad..she kept waking up. DH got in from work and went right to sleep. I wanted to take a shower before he did that, but i guess not. DD would not sleep in the pack n play or crib....only on me

My DH only got a week off and all of our family is far away. It was definitely trying, but we all survived.
