DH 30th Bday Idea, Help!!
Ok, so money is extremely tight right now due to DH being out of work for a couple of months now. Yes, he's found odd jobs here and there to help with the bills, but my original idea of taking him away on vacation is out of the budget.
I don't want to spend more than $300. Any ideas? I thought about tickets to a concert, he loves Neil Diamond and music like that.
Desperately need help!

well concert tickets are good, and the concert series for jones beach is coming out, some tickets are already on sale, or Neil Diamond tickets.....
also, what about a one night getaway to the hamptons/montauk/greenport before it gets super pricey for the summer months....
a ball game....
dinner at his favorite restaurant...
you could buy him a Nintendo Wii....

Hmmmmm tough....I THINK I got helicopter tixs around Manhattan for maybe 110 each...it was a really nice ride.

I think I may go with the concert tickets. He would love a ball game, but DH is a Red Sox fan and its impossible to get Yankee vs Red Sox tickets here in NY and going to Boston (my original idea) is too expensive.
I refuse to get a video game system. I'm actually very lucky, DH was never a big video game guy, but my girlfriends tell me horror stories.

haha, not sure if the races are he ideal 30th bday plans, but I'll see. He had a big interview today and I haven't heard from him yet, fingers crossed it went well.

Why don't you go out to a bar in the city and invite some friends. That way it really doesn't cost you anything, but maybe a few rounds of drinks. That's what I did for my 30th, and it was great- and didn't cost us anything but a few drinks (I was pregnant, so none for me) and cupcakes (we brought them to the club).
Honestly, IMO I think that $300 is a lot to spend for a birthday gift, even in the best of financial situations.

I just bought him a Manny Ramirez jersey for his birthday on Monday!!
Would your DH want a jersey or something else Red Sox related?
