destination wedding question

seems like a co-worker will be having a destination wedding, but isn't sure what the "proper" timeline after the wedding to have the reception back home.

is there such a thing?

I don't think so. Our reception was almost 6 months after our actual wedding and it was a full blown ceremony and reception.

I don't know that there's a "proper" length of time. I would do it sooner rather than later (i.e. I wouldn't wait a year or anything), but I don't know that I'd be expecting it to be a certain amount of time after.
