I am doing more of a dessert buffet than just cake for my twins 1st birthday. Looking for ideas!!!

So far, I am making a chocolate cake and vanilla cake, cheesecake bars and mini pumpkin pies. Also getting cookies and fruit. What else should I do???

we are doing some candy in jars too, and candy apples and will have bags for people to take them home.

LOVE the ore truffles....maybe I will add those!

basically 3 mashmallows on a stick, dipped into chocolate and you can add sprinkles in coordinating party colors Chat Icon

or you can just do one marshmallow dipped into colored candy melts...

i can find pics of my ideas if you want :)

hmmm.....maybe i will do the marhsmallows with red sprinkles.

the party is mickey and minnie themed, but since its hard to find all red minnie stuff i am doing a lot of black/red.
i am making a minnie and mickey cake, the cheesecake bars with cherry topping

thinking of chocolate covered oreos and using mini oreos to make "ears" --- saw them on a blog and they seem ok to make

Re: Dessert Buffet ideas

We did a candy/dessert buffet for our wedding in May and did all the desserts ourselves. We had mini cheesecake bites, chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered oreos, brownies, chocolate lollipops, chocolate covered strawberries, mini cherry baby cakes, mini cookies and cream cupcakes (garnished with a mini oreo), and my absolute favorite treat- red velvet truffles! They were so good and so easy to make! Here's the recipe.

In these pictures you can see the cherry baby cakes, the cookies n cream cupcakes, the mini cheesecakes, chocolate covered pretzels, etc.

It might not be the right season for Strawberries, but I love Strawberry & Marshmallow Kebabs! Love them!

Also, I went to a party where they made a cake out of candy, kind of like this, only smaller. It was awesome!!

Absolutely. It's at this website. It also has the cookies and cream recipe, too!
