depressed- kids are so mean....

so yesterday after Bryan got bit at daycre by his cousin he was
just sooo upset and emotional all day...Finally we were able to cheer him
up and gear him up for daycare today. Then I drop him off and the kids are all
playing with playdoh- so bryan walks over and wants to join in. There is a kid
there playing and there are 2 rolling pins on the table Bryan picks one up and starts playing
with it and as soon as he does that the boy- grabs it out of Bryans hand and says "its mine"The teacher then stepped in and said that they have to share. She also asks Bryan is he would like to get his own playdoh and Bryan shakes his head no. AS this is going on Im putting things in his cubby and about to leave. Bryan comes running over and grabs my leg- saying he doesnt want me to go. I explain to him that he is going to have fun and not to worry we will be backto pick up up soon. He goes and sits on the couch in the corner by himself with his lip quivering as I leave

This is simply unbearable!!!!!!!!

Why are kids so mean? He would have been fine if that little kid wasnt so mean to him I just feel so horrible leaving him like that. He just gets bullied all the time and I dont know
what to do about this.
Any advice?

I was so sad reading your post. Is it possible to keep him home for 1-2 days just to kinda give him a break from the routine and spoil him a little. Im not sure what else to suggest.....

I know the feeling, I am currently dealing with my DDs summer camp not having a tshirt for her and she was the only one not matching the other kids. She was totally looking foward to her shirt being there this morning when I dropped her off and they couldnt find the new one they ordered for her. I was so upset for her. I know its not the same, as your DS has had 2 bads days in a row. Sometimes I tell myself maybe it is better they go thru this now and learn defense and comebacks so when they start kindergarden they are prepared to deal with the other kids better. I dont know if that makes sense, or I just tell myself that to feel better in these situations

Don't take this wrong, but I don;t think that what that kid did was soo bad, little kids don't like to share, its gonna happen, I know its hard to see your child hurt, but this happens all the time, its not anythign against your son, any child could have probably approached that particular little boy and he would have said no to who ever wanted to play with him.

I thinkg its important not to let your child feel like a victim, but again as a mom I know its hard to watch your child get upset.

I don't think the kid was doing it to be mean.. At that age they get a little territorial...

hang in there... I'm sure shortly after you left he was running around having a blast...

When my son was little, and starting daycare for the first time.. he would run after me CRYING as I left... It's heart breaking, but they really are resilient...

I would feel the same way. Even though what the kids were doing was problem normal it's SO hard to leave your child when they're upset.
