depressed

had dinner with my folks tonite. of course the subject came up where my mom basically told me how her friends are all asking my "status" they know i'm 35, newly married and want a child. it would be their first grandchild and they are not in the best of health (either one of them). i can't tell them how hard this is for me because it would only make them sad. I SO badly want to make them grandparents. They are wonderful and it would break my heart more if they didnt' get to experience that. I feel like a failure. EVERYONE around them AND us is reproducing except for us.

Try to stay positive. Think about how amazing it will be when you finally get to give them the news that they will be grandparents. I'm so sorry it's so hard for you. Here's lots of babydust for a BFP very soon!!

You will make them so proud, and yourselves too! Patience is the hardest thing! Stay positive, it will happen! It's hard when it seems so out of control. Lots of to you!

thanks girls (pms is prob making me more sensitive to it). people are so annoying though - my mother was telling me how her friend who just became a grandmother, asked her "so any news from your daughter yet?" . like she's all superior - ugh! what's going on?? What kind of question is that?

People open their mouths before their brains kick into gear. Don't let it get to you.

On the other hand you can live vicariously through me, who two weeks ago when asked if DH & I were planning a family blew up at the person asking and said "do you have any idea how old I am?? We don't even know if it's possible?" To which she replied "I'm sorry". That caused me to say "why is it that people ask that question. Why don't people understand that it might be difficult if not impossible for people and that asking may cause a lot of pain?" Her answer . . . "I guess it's because it's a natural progression that once people get married they have kids, so you ask . . . not to be nosy or hurtful, but to express interest."


Either way, hang in there and know we're all in the same boat!

You are not alone. And it will happen for you when the time is right.

I know the feelings of anxiety and stress, it's just that you want something you have no control over and feel like the whole world is doing something that you want to do too......

I can surely sympathize as I had it and it was taken from me, so I have to start all over.

Just relax and if you need to, just talk to your mom privately and explain to her that you are TTC and it upsets you to hear the "pressure questions", so if she doesn't mnd keeping them to herself, she will be the first to know when you do get pregnant.

People don't think...they are inconsiderate and think they are being cute...it's not cute!!
Hang in there...try to be calm and stress free although it is hard...Your day will come and it will be the happiest day for everyone!!
