Dental work during the 2WW?
Ok so I was chewing gum yesterday and apparently it pulled out one of my fillings. I certainly wasn't happy about it, but now obviously I have to get it fixed.
Do you think if I went for dental work for a filling that it would be harmful during the 2WW? I am more worried about the local anesthesia. DH said he didn't think so, but I figured you ladies might know a little more.
Thanks!

When I was first pregnant I had tooth problems and the dentist needed to take an xray and asked if there was any way that I could be pregnant. I told him that I was in the 2WW and he said that he felt more comfortable waiting two weeks (as long as it wasn't terrible pain). So that is what I would do if I were you.
Hopefully you're not in pain because tooth pain is terrible!!!

local is fine.. you don't share blood with the baby until about 6 weeks. They won't do an xray though

Thanks for the reply! Thankfully, I am not in pain (yet) but I think I will call the doctor and just double check with them to be sure.

Re: Dental work during the 2WW?
There is a weaker type of local they can use for pregos. Just no xrays. Believe me, dental offices see situations like this all of the time. Just call them, tell them u may be prego. They may be able to fill it without local if it's not hurting. Just go in and see. Don't wait until you are full blown prego and the situation gets worse.

I had a filling done without any anesthetic (before pg but during 2ww). It was on a tooth that had already been root canal(ed). Just tell your dentist just in case they plan on doing any x-rays.
