Any of you mammas who delivered at Stonybrook...was there anything they did NOT provide that you wish you'd had?

Delivery at Stonybrook
They don't provide mesh undies. Not that I wished I had them but just so you're warned. They don't give out lanolin bc they recommend using expressed milk which was fine with me. I can't think of anything else I wished I had other than my own pillow and an extension cord for my phone charger. I had next to nothing bc I showed up with nothing expecting to be home in an hour and ended up not leaving for 5 days.

Wipes! I hate those little paper towel squares for diaper changes.

Re: Delivery at Stonybrook
Not sure if Stony Brook is the same as St. Catherine's but if it is -- a binky!! They are all about the breast and I did NOT breastfeed. Although, even if I did, I still like to use a binky to soothe. So, I brought my own newborn binky.
ETA - this is going to sound funny but socks. They did not put socks on the baby. They always had him wrapped up, swaddled, etc but I liked his little feet to have socks lol! So, I brought socks. Also, a boppy. I liked having the boppy there to help me hold him while I was sitting on the bed or in the chair... And sometimes I would prop him up in the boppy on the bed next to me rather than put him in the bassinette. It was nice.

Re: Delivery at Stonybrook
I actually had a great experience, love that DH was able to sleep with us, and the nurses were such dolls. I can't say the same about St Charles though

Pacifiers! They did not give them, or even have them. This was over a year ago though.

Delivery at Stonybrook
Mesh undies... bring Depends Silhouettes! They're fantastic! Other than that, I didn't need a thing that I wasn't already planning on bringing and I was there for 8 days!

I can't think of anything else other than what's been mentioned already. I had a great experience there.

Re: Delivery at Stonybrook
Ask for breast pads, they will provide them. And ask for a breast pump in your room. They will give you the pumping kits, which are super expensive to buy. Its nice to have extras if you plan on pumping at all. Bring your own shampoo/conditioner/hair dryer.

Yes! I was able to get 4 pumping kits (a full set for my room and a full set for the nicu). Each becomes a manual pump and even though they're ameda brand they'll work in Medela too.
