Delivering at South Side Hospital?
Hey Ladies,
Just wanted to get an idea of who will be delivering at South Side Hospital in Bay Shore.
Do they have private rooms? Have any of you ever been in one? Any idea how much?
If anyone has ANY info about delivering at SS, please respond! I can't believe it's right around the corner!!!

I LOVE southside. I got a private room there, it was I think $125 a night, but I don't remember getting charged for it?? As soon as you go in, you have to request the room...I kept on reminding them that I wanted a private room.
My experience in L&D was amazing. I honestly said after delivering my son that I would do it again tomorrow. And I meant it. That's how wonderful they were. They were great on the maternity ward as well, but I really loved L&D. They also have a private entrance and a private waiting room for L&D which was great.
You will love it there!! Good luck!

My very good friend just delivered there on 10/14. She had a good experience. She had a private room. And she was able to keep the baby in her room all day and night if she wanted. I am unsure about the cost but I can find out for you. She was very happy with the experience.
As a visitor, I found the staff very friendly and helpful. Also, I enjoyed the valet parking!

I will be delivering there come December. They do have private rooms which have to be requested and cost an extra $125. I did spend some time in L&D not too long ago and the staff was great.

I will be delivering at SS. I have heard so many GREAT things about them.
I heard they have 10 private rooms.
I just scheduled for the L&D tour, looking forward to checking everything out.

Yay! Thanks for all the great info. I thought the private room would be MUCH more per night. 125.00 is totally do-able.
I love the idea that there's a separate entrance/elevator/waiting area for the maternity ward. I want to start bf'ing right away, so the ability to allow the baby stay in the room with me all night will be great for that.
Any other info would be great! Keep the input coming!!!
