If the dr says 5 weeks is too early, he may be right. I went at 6 weeks and we barely saw anything.

Hope all turns out well.

Re: Sad

I went at 5.5 weeks (and I knew exactly when I conceived) and saw a small sac.... nothing else. I was lucky, many people still see nothing at that point.

If you can only estimate when you conceived, it may not even be 5 weeks yet.... try not to worry, and just wait for the blood test results...

Re: Sad

Oh honey don't worry! I went at 4w6d (I know that now, I thought I was 5+2) and there was nothing at all! Then by 5w3d we saw just a gestational sac. Give it a little while. When is you next sono? Maybe you could get one next Monday?

ETA: I had pretty bad cramping also and was afraid of an ectopic but all is fine!

Don't worry yet. We didn't see the sac until 5w5d..........it may just be too early. Wait until you get your blood results and another sonogram. I am sure everything is fine.

Re: Sad

I went to the dr 2 weeks ago, and they thought I was about 7 weeks (according to my lmp). All they saw was the sac. Then I went back last week, and they saw the sac as well as the yolk sac. Now I go back again Friday. I am very nervous, but my dr said that I am seeing my baby form from the beginning ( I also know that I ovulated late--about 2 weeks)

Best of luck to you~!

Re: Sad

Im still cramping and I am almost 18 weeks. When its something you are not used to feeling, its really hard to establish your own baseline.

I agree that 5 weeks is too early as well. They usually won't even see you until 6 weeks (and what you'll learn is 1 week is a huge difference!).

Also cramping is also a sign that your uterus is expanding.

Continued health (& happier) pregnancy!

Re: Sad

IMO 5 weeks is really early to see anything. MY RE wouldn't do a sono until 7 weeks.

FYI: My sister found out she was preggo early on. She went to the dr's and they saw nothing. She went back in two weeks and they saw the baby and the HB. He's now 4 years oldChat Icon

5 weeks is waaaaay too early to see anything!! if the cramping feels like AF cramps only stronger, i would say that's totally normal - i had that almost my entire first tri and i am now 16 weeks. Chat Icon everything is fine, i am sure.

It's a little too early to be talking ectopic....I didn't see a heartbeat until 6 weeks 4 days...

I am 8w1d and I still have mild cramping, I have a friend that is 14 weeks and she is cramping still too.

Good luck!
