Dear Rachel Ray
i am not sure if you are aware of this, but every time you say that cilantro has a "verdant" flavor, you are, essentially, telling us that cilantro tastes GREEN. like, the color. yeah.

Do a search using "verdant flavor" on google. She didn't use it incorrectly... it means a clean simple flavor. As for her, I'm not a fan or non-fan but I saw her biography on TV and was impressed with her rise of fame.

i like some of her recipes.
but that's it
as the pp stated: if that's what verdand flavor means... i love cilantro and i would have to say that she's using it wrong. cilantro doesn't taste "simple".. jmho

it's not so much an accent but she seems to be trying to make herself sound so much more "refined" than she used to - like the way she says "lamb" now annoys the crap out of me
i actually like her a lot, she basically taught me how to cook, but she is a fruit loop sometimes

just because other people use that term doesn't make it correct 
the dictionary definition of verdant is:
1. green with vegetation; covered with growing plants or grass (ie. a verdant oasis)
2. of the color green (ie. a verdant lawn)
it can also mean inexperienced or unsophisticated

she's using the word wrong in the technical sense.
cilantro has a very strong flavor...she is using it wrong in the figurative sense
