Dear BQE
It was so much fun spending time and money having our rims fixed after we dropped into a newly formed CRATER near Northern Blvd.
We loved that the wealth was spread so completely, and the damage was done not to ONE wheel, but to BOTH wheels on the drivers side.
We also LOVED the other drivers that didn't understand the meaning of hazard lights and continued to honk and damn near crash into us/run us off the road as the we tried to ever so gently cross from the left to right lanes and exit.
Without you, our donut would not have popped it's cherry...and would have remained lonely and unused underneath our car.
I do want to thank you for not ripping our muffler or any undercarriage necessities out from under us. THAT would have been a downer.
Sincerely,
We only made it to two Open Houses b/c of you.
SAFE DRIVING everyone! these pot "holes" are ridiculous.

Re: Dear BQE
Uggh. BMW rims are NOT cheap either.
My husband let someone drive his BMW a few months ago. He was only driving from our house to a restaurant. He managed to drop the passenger side into a freaking DITCH and destroy the rims.

no, they are not
we took them to a "specialist" that will hopefully be able to repair the damage (or they could crack them open...it's our "risk" ) it was so scary b/c our car is so low to the ground.
we are in talks right now about getting a "beater" car for city driving.
a BMW is a terrible thing to waste
oh, and we JUST finished paying it off...and ended the term of our warranty. it's great...and then NOT.
hope yours is ok now!
eta: as of right now, the cost to us is actually minimal. we will soon find out if there is damage we didn't see initially. Right now, the cost isn't worth the headache of dealing with the city.
My. Poor. Precious.

Re: Dear BQE
I try not to even drive on the BQE anymore - probably tougher if you live in Brooklyn.
Sorry about your rims

Re: Dear BQE
Definitely go after the city and see if they'll pay the damage.
How did the bomb handle it?

My. Poor. Precious.
I feel you. My husband's car is fixed now, so he is happy. The dealership refinished the rims and they were good as new.
Make sure they check for undercarriage damage. I was driving my BMW back in April when a re-tread flew off a truck in front of me. I hit the re-tread going about 60 MPH. I had almost 5k in damage. New front bumper, new undercarriage pieces, 2 new rims, new headlights, etc. My car was at the dealership for 4 weeks. I almost cried when I went to pick her up from the dealership and she was all pretty again.

Re: Dear BQE
Oh man. Thatreally stinks!
I drove out to Queens yesterday and thought my poor car was going to have some serious damage.
And I think it was my fault but the roads didn't help, my stupid GPS kept falling off the windshield! LoL
