Dear BQE,
Ok...so you have been being worked on at least since February of 2006. What the hell is taking so long?!??!?! I go to work at 10 AM and I only live 8 miles away and sometimes it takes me an hour. This is unacceptable!!! I am sick and tired of all this construction!!!! And I still don't see what these guys are trying to do to you other that rip you up and then put you back together, while spraying water all over the place and making my car dirty after I just cleaned it.

The BQE has had continous construction going on for at least the last 30 years- and looks crappier every time I ride on it! Not to slander construction companies, but I'm pretty sure that the construction companies that work on the BQE (and others in the city) are mobbed up. The Daily News did a big expose on this a few years back. Generation after generation inherits the BQE project and nothing gets done. They rip up one section of the road, put it back together, then tip up another section of the road and put it back together with no real progress. Half the time there won't even be anyone actually working- they'll just block up the area, cause massive amonts of traffic, and bill the city for "hours worked." It really is scandalous, but has been going on for decades! Still not as bad as the "big dig" in Boston though- talk about a corrupt operation!
So next time you're in traffic on the BQE, blame the mob.

I used to commute from Queens to Bay Ridge and it was pure torture. I HATE the BQE!
We moved the location of our business because I was going to lose my mind!

I knew it was mob related because they never get anything done. It's just so annoying. In theory, the BQE is a great idea....if it was ever finished.

This city needs more highways!!!!!! Ones that don't need to be "fixed" constantly.
