Dealing with morning sickness

im 9 weeks pregnant and the morning sickness is kickin my buttChat Icon i feel like all i do is lay in bed cause my tummy is always upset and my new things are horrible headachs and i feel so dizzy.

i feel like things are starting to pile up on me, laundry, dishes, cleaning. i can barely get things done without getting dizzy or really sick. DH helps out but he can only do so much to. please tell me it gets better and ill get some energy and be able to do things again.

feeling like this is so worth it, knowning my little one is growin inside of me makes me try real hard to s u c k it up and get things done, but there are times where its hard.

any advice ladies?Chat Icon

Sorry you are having a rought time. As someone who had severe MS for my 1st 2 pregnancies ( I barfed for 9 months) I know how hard it is.

Talk to your doc. He may give you zofran.

MOST people start to feel better after the first trimester or so. Hopefully that will be the case for you Chat Icon

Re: Dealing with morning sickness

I have it.... bad.

I throw up anywhere from 3-9 times a day, but luckily it's all over by 11am-12pm.

I sip ginger ale (warm, not cold! anything cold activates my gag reflex- even cold air) and suck on oyster crackers until they're soft, then swallow.

Sometimes if the nausea is really bad, but I'm not throwing up, I eat a bagel. The heavy carb is great for absorbing all my excess acid.

I also drink water with lemon or oranges in it all day at work. At least I feel like I'm getting SOME nutrients!

My Dr isn't a fan of Zofran - he said as long as I'm keeping fluids down, I'm OK. He told me I need to pee at least once every 2 hours.

I've tried the seabands - they work sometimes. It's just acupressure, so they're safe to use.

I don't eat much all day. I'm lucky if I get a full meal down for lunch OR dinner... never both.

Hang in there - lets hope we both outgrow this soon!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

For me the day I hit 12 weeks, the morning sickness and nasea went away. I did next to nothing for about 6 weeks because I had no energy. DH did a lot. He went to the grocery store, did the laundry and cleaned. I can't tel you how much better I feel now at 16 weeks.

I hope it gets better for you! Hang in there! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
