Dealing with diarrhea? (Some tmi)

Seamus has had the stomache virus since Thursday. He threw up 3 times that day and hasnt since. He has had diarrhea sine then though and it hasnt stopped. On Saturday all I gave him was Pedialyte all day because he was just basically pooping water (i know tmi lol)

It got a little better last night and a friend told me to give Milk and lactose free formula. I started that today. Plus I gave him a little oatmeal and some bananas. No veggies and no meat. I dont want to chance it!

He has pooped less today. Yesterday he had about 6 dirty diapers, today only 3. His poop doesnt seem to be getting better though. Its still very soft and watery. He hasnt leaked out of any diapers for 2 days so that is good

Is there anything else I can do? he goes to my parents tomorrow but he needs to go to daycare Tuesday. He has been sick alot in the last 2 months and I have had to leave work ALOT. They are pretty good about it but I dont want to cause any problems at work. DH worked in Manhattan so he cant leave work to get him. I dont want to get any other kids sick of course, but I dont think he is sick other than the diarrhea. He is laughing, playing,, etc. I just want to see if I can get his poop back to normal!! lol

Honestly you are doing all you can. Diarrhea can last quite a few days. I would keep up with plenty of bananas to bind him up more. Good Luck!

What about some rice cereal? Rice is very binding.

definitely call your ped....

as for curing diarrhea, I think if it's an infection, it has to clear-up... no foods can improve it KWIM? Just avoid foods that would irritate the situation (ex. high fiber foods, heavy foods)
