DD took a knock on the head...need advice.
DD was sitting on one of the little plastic outdoor chairs at my neighbor's house. It was on a blacktop driveway. She leaned and the chair tipped to the side. she sort of rolled with it but her head hit the blacktop with an audible THUNK. She cried right away and calmed down after a minute or so. She then got impatient with me holding her (like usual) and wriggled to get out of my arms and went right back to playing. It's been almost an hour and she is totally her energetic happy self. Her pupils dilate evenly. There doesn't seem to be any sort of lump forming, I see a little scrape in the area which is a few inches higher than her ear and a little toward the back of her head.
I think that she's OK but should I call ped anyway? Should I let her sleep regularly or wake her every hour or so?
ETA: She is 22 months.

As long as she isn't vomiting, is concsious and back to her old self she should be ok. Just keep an eye on her for the next 24 hours.
DS has taken some good head hits and I have taken him to the hospital twice and both times they didnt even do a CT scan b/c he showed no signs of head trauma.
There heads are harder than they look!

Re: DD took a knock on the head...need advice.
My DS had a bad hit on the head a few months ago - he fell backwards and whacked his head on a catering hall floor and there was also an audible thump but no bruise or bump formed - he is now almost 22 months it happened when he was like 19 months. The ped said to watch out for in the next 24-48 hrs or so - increased sleepiness, lethargy, vomiting, evidence of headache (irritability, not sleeping etc), confusion or lack of coordination. That's really it. So unless you notice any of these things I wouldn't worry about calling the ped. I will say though DS reacted much in the same way as your DD - he was fine within minutes and was acting normally however, around 7 hrs later he threw up once and he was up the entire night with what seemed to be his head hurting him. He ended up being fine though! Just be very careful not to let her hit her head again in the next week - my ped said after a big hit another one could be devastating regardless of whether there are symtpoms the first time around. HTH i know how scary it is!

I wouldnt worry about it no...
Sounds like nothing.
IF the pupils looked fine, no weird acting symptoms and no vommitting, chances are pretty good all is ok.
Hugs to you both though, it is scary when they fall and hit their heads
