DD is cutting 4 teeth at the same time...is it ok to be giving her Tylenol every day?

My poor DD, she is cutting 2 upper molars and 2 canines at the same time

She's been really good about it--not very cranky--but her naps had gotten to be almost non-existent, about 1/2 hour-45 minutes.

One day last week, I thought to give her some Tylenol about 1/2 hour before her nap, and she slept her usual 2 1/2 hours.

I did that for a few days and then forgot to give it to her one day...she took another 45 minute nap and was miserable.

My question is--is it ok to be giving her one dose of Tylenol every day to make her comfortable so that she'll sleep? I don't want to drug my child, but I also want to make sure she's able to sleep!

Not sure...maybe your PED could help

My ped. told us it was ok when Ava was cutting her molars to give it to her every night. I think we did that for a week straight, if not longer. I don't think it's the best thing to give it to them for too long an extended period, but it's not like you're giving it to her all day long, kwim? I'd call the ped just to be sure, though.

I did with Jason when he was cutting those. He was HORRID and a HUGE crank. It helped. It helped all of us. I did it for about a week and a half.

DD got 6 teeth at once. It was terrible. Ped told us to use motrin each night before bed and tylenol during the day if she seemed to be in pain.

Thanks all We see the ped. on Monday, so I will definitely ask her. It's just that it's been probably about 2 weeks that I've been giving it to her.

I used to have Motrin, but since the recall I've only been able to find generic Tylenol. I think it works well, I just want to make sure I'm not like, creating a dependency or anything like that.

When DS is teething, he's ok during the day but has trouble staying asleep at night. We give him one dose of Motrin at night, usually for about a week and a half or until we see the teeth break through so sometimes shorter. My thinking is, if I had a tooth breaking through the gums, I would for sure want to have some sort of pain relief to help me get a good night's sleep. I would feel bad not making him feel better. I think it's fine.
