daycare questions

I pay $1200 per month and that does not include food. When I was looking cost ranged anywhere from $1100 to $1400 per month. It also depends on the age of the child.

First thing I would do is look up each facility you're interested in on the NYS website to check for any violations. Some can be a little silly, but some are truly alarming, so read them carefully. Then go and visit the ones you're still interested in.

Questions:
Can they give medications?
Are they CPR certified?
Where does DC nap?
How often are the toys, sheets, etc cleaned?
What does a typical day look like? What is the schedule like?
What is the teacher to child ratio?
Do bottles need to be prepared or is powder ok?
How is the age group broken down between classes?
Do they provide a sheet letting you know how DC did that day?

And my only other suggestion would be to meet the teachers, not just the people who own/run the place. You want to know who will be caring for your DC everyday. Good luck!

This!

Those are pretty much the questions I had asked, but it also depends on how old your child is. I went and I got to look in on classes already in progress and meet the teachers and meet the teachers that would be handling DD. I also took DD with me when looking at places and each place let her interact with her potential class, which gave me a good feel for how she felt about the people.

For us, daycare costs about $1,000 and DD is 2 now. So, prices can range from about $1,000 to $1,500 in some cases depending on age and daycare. Our place provides all the food for DD (snacks and hot breakfast and lunch and milk and juice and water), we bring in sheets and blankets that we wash ourselves every week, along with diapers, wipes and any creams that she may need and changes of clothes.

Re: daycare questions

pricesw range from 1000-1500 a month... if its 1200 and up I feel they should include all food and drinks... I pay closer to 1000 now but no food or drinks are included, I need longer hours soon for new job so I will be moving him to new one thats 1280 a month... and includes two meals and snacks and milk and juice and all that and is open 630-7pm... and its same price no matter what hours I need

The hours was a big deal for me, make sure you find out about any hidden fees if hours change
