Daycare Parent/Teacher Conf for Toddlers
I totally think they should have them for toddlers. On the daycare's website I'll see Pre-School, Pre-K and Kindergarten conference (they have a full time Kindergarten there) No toddler classes?! Ok, I know it's silly, but when I get a chance to actually talk to Mason's teachers I love to hear how he's progressing. What he loves, what he's doing, friends he has (ok... not really friends, but friends he'll play with for a moment) LOL Not like Mason can tell me how his day is. I ask him every day and I get something like "Car... beep, beep" only b/c he gets excited to go into my car and then we watch the cars on the road. Today I got a chance to have a long conversation with his teacher about his eating and she went into how much he's learning and how his vocab is expanding, his fav stuff, etc. I never get that. She also went into what a pleasure he is to have in her class. He's so sweet and has a great sense of humor. He makes her laugh all the time It's usually something like... he had a good day

Re: Daycare Parent/Teacher Conf for Toddlers
I got an email from our daycare to schedule an appt in Feb. So i called the director and she said the teachers were doing the evals and the teachers will let me know when to schedule an appt. they had a sign up that Teacher/Parent conf is in march so i guess I need to do that.
I thought it was so cute they do this for the toddler room kids. Im curious to see what they say about DS. I do speak to the teacher quickly when I pick him up and she tells me what he's been improving with and doing well with. But the other day she said he got pushy with some other kids when they were trying to play. So we'll see..LOL.

Re: Daycare Parent/Teacher Conf for Toddlers
aw, the daycare I worked at (before DD was born) always did these. I did the parent/teacher conferense for my 3 yr old class, but the Toddlers did one as well. The toddler teachers also wrote little notes beside each child's sign in, giving a small update on little things s/he did that day. Super cute, and I think most of the parents appreciated that (I know i would). It's a shame your school doesn't do that. But in the meantime, just chat it up with the teachers everytime you pick Mason up

Re: Daycare Parent/Teacher Conf for Toddlers
Our school has them twice a year, and school is closed on those days; although they do offer multi-age daycare.
I LOVE them, and I've found that the teachers take them VERY seriously and really prepare for the conferences. At each one I've been to, they usually have a developmental checklist, and go through it with me to talk about where Alex is compared to what is expected of her age. The conferences usually last a good 30 minutes, so if there are 10-15 kids in a class, I can understand why school is closed on those days!

Our daycare has them. I actually had to scan the written evaluation to my mom (even though I read her the entire thing!!!) because she wanted a copy!!

Re: Daycare Parent/Teacher Conf for Toddlers
Ours has conferences twice a year for the toddlers as well as the preschool kids. It's important IMO, since they see our children doing so many things, and this is such a critical development period.
