Just a quick question on getting the teachers gifts....

FYI she attends all year

whats the norm?

I got them gift cards for the holidays but do you get them something for year end as well?

she will prob me moving to the older toddlers in September so should I get them something when she leaves them?


I don't want to forget them they are amazing with my DD.

I have given gift cards at the end of the year, or when they move to another class. I have also brought in coffee and bagels for the whole daycare to say thank you.

I don't do anything for "end of year" in June since my kids go in the summer as well.

If I like the teacher I give something when they move up.

I get gifts at the holidays and then in April for teacher appreciation day.

My son goes all year so I will do gift cards when he moves up. I also give cash at Christmas and a small gift card for their birthdays.

What if you DD moves on to camp, in the same daycare and its new teachers?
I was thinking they deserve something as well?

and then end of summer they switch teachers again back into the school schedule

I always have a gift at the holidays and end of the year. I had two teachers and an assistant. I saw the assistant the most and have them each $50 for each time.

Now my dd is in preschool and she has like 10 teachers, assistants, directors, security and so on. I can't afford that for all. So I give her main teachers money and the rest smaller tokens.

We just had "graduation" yesterday at DD's daycare even though she graduated from absolutely nothing and is in the exact same classroom today as she was on Friday. However, we did give her teacher and 2 assistants gifts yesterday at graduation because that's what was suggested by the parent association. I gave $40 each.

I also gave during the holidays, but she was in a different class at that time, so this was the first time I was giving gifts to these teachers.

There are also some floaters in her class, but I don't even know who they are so did not give them any gifts.

I do Bath & Body Works gift baskets at the holidays and Amazon gift cards at the end of the summer (before they change teachers).

I give for the holidays and teacher appreciation. I don't give year end because there is no year end since they are going in the summer and will be in the same room in September

I think cash is king and I always gift cash or giftcards. I give at Christmas time, for Teacher Appreciation Day and also at the end of the year if my daughter is moving to another class. I try to be super generous but that is bc I love love love my DDs daycare and they are so wonderful to us.

DD has only been going since October but I gave gifts for the holidays, I don't plan on doing end of year gifts.
