She'll be starting in September at 6m. I'm a teacher so I've had the summer off and my mil watched her for the month I went back. It worked out nicely!

I know it's not ideal, but honestly I am SO happy DD is in daycare. We found some place we love run by someone who we LOVE and it has been wonderful!
I feel confident that she is in very capable and loving hands and the opportunities for her to socialize with kids of different ages is priceless. As time has gone on (DD is 17 months now), I notice how great she is when we have play dates with other kids and participate in other activities.
The major downfall- germs. DD was sick most of the fall and winter, on and off. That part was tough! There is no getting around it. No matter what age they begin to have more interaction with other kids, whether 6 weeks or 6 years, they will get sick. Chat Icon

6 months and 5 months

It worked out great! My kids thrived there, beyond what I hoped for. It was a little hard in the beginning, but they have gained so much from it, it was definitely the absolute right decision for our family.

I wanted to go back to work so I always knew it would be the situation.

I absolutely love my daycare. He was their first infant since it was a new center. His teacher is the best!!!! She still checks in on him even though his has moved up 3x since then. His teachers become an extended family. He runs into his classroom and has a great tiem when he is there. I truly believe he started to walk and talk when he did because of daycare. I could never teach him all the things he learns there.

It was hard in the beginning but, got easier with time. When they start smiling more it gets easier because you know how happy they are to be there.

Re: Daycare

3.5 months for both my boys. Daycare is at the school where I work, so I had a bit of an easier transition than I would have otherwise. I have always been able to check in on them, I was able to nurse them, if they ever got hurt or anything, I could get right to them, etc. Both of them have loved their daycare experiences. The teachers are fantastic and do wonderful things with them.

12w on tues. it was terrible leaving her. Dh and I both sobbed. Wed I was ok. Thurs I cried and today I kept watching the clock counting the minutes till I saw her. I hate it and want to be sahm but financially can't so I keep telling myself that I'm working for her to give her the happy comfortable life she deserves.
