How long is the day? How many days a week? I think the average for 5 days- 9-5 is around 250 so yes, that seems high.

It's 5 days from 7:30 -4. Damn. I thought it was high.. And I talked to this women for so long and really liked her. It is in home, but licensed and seemed like a dream. 8 kids total. But, it did seem high to me. It is geared for teachers so that's why the times are a little off. One woman is a former Rosemary Kennedy teacher, which is the building I work in.
I'm going to see it tomorrow.

I think that seems like it is in the normal range. I've called around and have been quoted $1300-1800 for the month.

To me that seems high but I don't live in NY so I dont know what day care goes for over there. Day care where I live runs aroung $200 a week.

Some of my co-workers pay $400 per week ($10 p/hour at 8 hours a day).

I have heard anyone from $225-400 a week for in-home day cares & nannys/Babysitters

I know that the day care centers, for a 6 week old - 1 year old it's between $325-$350 a week. If you go through someone out of their home, it's generally a little cheaper.

It's funny I was just talking about this with my boss and she said they're paying 1300 a month for tutor time. They daughter is there 9-5 M-F so that doesn't seem like it's too much, especially since this woman is in a home and only has 8 children.

I pay $1295 per month for a center that is open 7:15 - 6:15 pm. We don't use it that long though. So your price seems good.
