Cysts
Has anyone ever gotten a cyst during their cycle? My dr thinks I might have one on my right adnexa, but she thinks its bc I O'd from that side this month (although she felt it yesterday, but I O'd 2 weeks ago...). I also had a chemical this month.
Is this something I should be concerned about? She didn't seem concerned and really thinks its from ovulating.
Thanks!

Re: Cysts
Yep. My sis & I both get them. My sister gets multiple cysts though, but I do not. I actually had one very early in my PG that ruptured (OW!) and it was on my left side where I ovulated from. It is pretty common, but I would get ultrasounds to make sure they were not changing in size or frequency every now & again if my cycle was "off"

Re: Cysts
Is this a corpus luteum cyst? If so this is pretty common. Usually they are not an issue..

That's what she thinks it is. I never had them before, so I got concerned!
But would it still be there 2 weeks after O'ing? Im wondering if having a chemical pg would have an affect here...
Thanks!!

I guess it could understanding the way pregnancy works heres a short primer:
Your cycle has two phases that involve hormones. The first half of yoru cycle is the follicular phase in which estrogen rules. This is considered a cold hormone ergo , why your temps are lower before O. After you O the corpeus luteum(simply the sac that held the egg now deflated) starts to produce progesterone.
If you are pregnant it continues until your placenta takes over anytime between 10-14 weeks. If you are not pregnant it should disappear and stop producing progesterone, the hot hormone-this is why your temps stay up when PG and down when you get AF. Maybe because your started producing progesterone for the pregnancy it formed into a cyst. As I said MANY people get them and it shouldn't be a big deal. If you had a number of them it might be an issue but 1 I wouldn't worry. HTH!

She should be calling me today or tomororw with my blood results, to I am going to talk to her about the cyst more.
Do they ususally just dissolve naturally?

Yep as far as I know. I had one last cycle that my Dr only found because of an internal US while "searching" for my left ovary. He said he probably wouldn't have seen it if my ovary wasn't hiding After 15 days I was going on Clomid which you can't do with a cyst and it was gone.

Re: Cysts
for about 5-6 months i was having a lot of pelvic pain during my cycle, especially during ovulation and throughout my luteal phase. finally, one month the pain was so excruciating that i wasn't able to walk or get up from being seated / lying down. went to the gyn and my ultrasound showed lots of free fluid around my uterus, which suggested that i had had a cyst that ruptured.
DH and i wondered if the cyst could have somehow been impairing our ability to conceive; we hoped that now that the cyst was gone my body would somehow "right" itself and i would get pregnant. sure enough, the next month we conceived. not sure if the absence of the cyst had anything to do with it, but it was sort of an eerie coincidence.

Do you know what kind of cyst you had? I've never had any unusual pain during Ovulation or afterwards. In fact, I don't have any now, even though apparently the cyst is there. I hope its just a random thing that dissolves.
