Curling lashes - update!
I love my lash curler, but I need to know how to make my lashes stay curled.
I just had my lashes tinted and didn't notice a difference until they were curled - wow!
I heat my lash curler and that helps them stay curled longer but still not as long as I would like.
Any ideas?
ETA update:
So apparently the heat did the trick. My lashes stayed curled until I went into the shower this morning! So happy I will definitely keep up with the tinting if my lashes look this good all the time
I really think that whatever mascara I was using before made me lose the curl. Very happy!

Re: Curling lashes
I heat mine with a blow dryer for a few seconds before it use it. It keeps my lashes curled all day.

Me too. I couldn't live without my eyelash curler!
Maybe it is your mascara? Try putting on another coat..If I only do one layer it doesn't hold it as long.

Re: Curling lashes
the only way I can get my lashes to stay curled is with waterproof mascara, but I'm guessing that would defeat the purpose for you since you want the tinting to show. I wonder if they sell waterproof clear mascara? that might help!

Re: Curling lashes
I use an eyelash curler - unheated - and find that waterproof mascara holds my curl all day/night.

Re: Curling lashes
can't edit on my phone. I can't believe I forgot about the eyelash primer I've been using. Dior & it actually curls my lashes! They've grown/filled in too...and I love it most with Urban Decay Lush Lash mascara.

Re: Curling lashes
1) Are you curling them in a few different places (starting at the base and then clamping another couple of times as you pull off)?
2) It could be your specific curler.
3) If could also be your brand of mascara. I have tried so many different mascaras that don't hold the curl and it p i s s e s me off no end! I stick with my favorite, Beautinizer( fiberwig).

Re: Curling lashes
Thanks girls!
For some reason today when I heated my curler it actually lasted a long time - lashes are still curly! I'm guessing it was my mascara that was causing me to lose the curl since I am not wearing any today.
I might use clear mascara just to see what happens for right now I'm very happy
Michelle I do "crimp" in a few places, learned that on here, thanks!

Re: Curling lashes
For me it's the type of mascara. I used to heat my eyelash curler up with a blow dryer back in high school, but I think it's an unnecessary added step (it works for the moment, but definitely isn't long lasting) if you use a mascara that somewhat hardens, almost like hairspray.
I love Maybelline Full & Soft, but it doesn't hold a curl, so I use Maybelline's Colossal lash or Great Lash over it as a top coat.
As for clear mascaras, I always liked Covergirls' for its stay factor (brows or lashes.) I found other clear mascaras to be too soft.

Re: Curling lashes - update!
I don't wear mascara and I will probably never start. I tried so many times and I just have too many allergies that affect my eyes. I can wear eyeliner and other makeup but mascara never worked out for me.
Is there any way for my lashes to hold a curl? I have a heated curler and an old school curler. I have never tried heating the old school curler. Are you saying that heat alone with no mascara works?
ETA: I have always crimped in a few places but I never thought that the curl will last unless I have mascara to give it hold. I only recently started to try to curl my lashes again (b/c of encouraging threads on here ).
