I'm sure all will be well with her. But I just wanted to say she is adorable, what a cute little personality it seems like she has

Could just be the angle of the picture - that has happened with DDs. She is beautiful!

Its hard to tell from the picture (she's adorable). My dd was born with esotropia she had the patches and 2 eye surgeries as a baby. after that she has a very pronounced lazy eye and we finally did the hopefully last surgery this spring. Just keep an eye on it. There is a great Dr. in Manhattan for this.

She is adorable BTW! It could very well be the angle of the picture. If you FM Tran92 she could tell you a bit about what she noticed with her daughter and who she took her daughter too if you are worried.

Re: Cross-Eyed/Lazy Eye? Pic included...
I can't see the pic, but I'll tell you this - Alex had a lazy eye when she was younger and we took her to a pediatric opthalymologist. He said many babies are born with this, and should resolve itself within a certain # of months (can't remember how long, I think 6 months). Alex's didn't resolve itself so we went back and all we had to do was put an eye patch on her stronger eye for a few weeks, and it resolved very shortly after that.

First...she's so beautiful! I do think the left eye appears a bit crossed/lazy.

My son's eyes looked the same way. He is now being patched for 3 hours a day to correct this. He has ambliopia, strabismus and he is farsighted. I'd say if you notice this a lot...have her checked out. The earlier you try to correct it the better.
DS's eye was only noticable to me and DH, yet we had him checked...everyone in our family thought we were nuts...they saw nothing. We were glad we had him looked at...we found out he did have a problem and now we can be on top of it.
BTW...she is precious!!!
i agree with this. my dd is far sighted, and has been wearing glassed for hte last 2 months. she got them at 7 months, and she's 9 months now. the eye doctor didn't even see the eye turn, i was noticiing, and when he dilated her eyes and tested them he said she was far sighted and thats why the eye was turning in. the glasses make hte eye straighten out.
Same with my DD...we recently got glasses too and over time the condition will be corrected. Basically, the eye is focusing so hard on an object and eventually gives up which causes the eye to turn inward. DDi is severly farsighted too almost +6. BTW, all babies are born farsighted, some outgrow it and some don't. It is very common.

Re: Cross-Eyed/Lazy Eye? Pic included...
It's hard to tell b/c her head is turned, but it's probably something called pseudoesotropia from prominent epicanthal folds. basically an optical illusion...
If you have a pic straight on you can tell better. If they dilated her and she wasn't farsighted it's probably fine...maybe take this pic with you to the ophthalmologist next time if you're concerned. Was it a general or pediatric ophtho?
