I had them also 
We had a small opening where the dryer vent was under the deck and DH closed it up. Since then, I have not noticed any down there.
Check to see if you have any opening in the basement where they could be getting in.

My dad bombed our garage when we had them in there and that seemed to work. We had a few in our den last year...they are so gross I use ot just go around with a broom and kill them and the dustbust them up. I know I am cruel but they are gross.
