Re: Camel/cave crickets...HELP!!!!!

My mom had them for the last 5 months!! She said in the last two weeks she hasn't seen any... only one dead on the floor probably b/c the cats got to it.

As it gets colder they will go away... until next summer. Chat Icon

LOL, these things are coming more and more popular.

You can get the sticky pads. But now that the colder weather is coming, you will be seeing less of them.

Thankfully in the past two years, we only had 3 and that was last year. None this year.

You can also put a dehumidifer in your basement. We have it on all the time and feel that may be a reason why we havent seen them. It is not damp in our basement to say the least and I know they hate dry.......but love wet and damp.

we bought some spray from home depot. Sprayed inside our basement in the area they were hanging out. We sprayed outside near the window where we think they were coming in. We also bought a dehumidifier within 2 days, they were gone!

We have them all summer! Tons! I haven't seen any lately. My DH uses these glue type sticky traps and they work.

They have been coming in DROVES during the past month!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I was finding at least 1 or 2 per day!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I've done the spray...lasted for a while, but now....THEY"RE BAACK!!!

I think it's because it's still kinda warm out, but at night it gets so cold, they go indoors to get warm.

Pretty soon, they should be gone...only to come back again in the spring!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

My next step is spraying again and sticky traps, though I'm limited as to where I can put them because my basement is my sons' playroom...and these kids get into EVeRYTHING. I'll have to just put them in my laundry room I guess.

I truly hate these nasty buggers!!!!!!!

We have them in our basement as well -

Our landlord sprinkled Borax powder down there and we haven't seen any since!

We used to have at LEAST 6-7 down there at a time. Grossed me the HELL out!

We have them too. One of them hopped on my leg and I ran away screaming and shaking my leg.Chat Icon

We bought the glue traps and I put mothballs in the areas that they hang around in. So far we caught a ton of them...but there is still more. They're HUGE too!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Camel/cave crickets...HELP!!!!!

OMG!!! They are the creepiest looking things I have ever seen! DH and I had so many of them in the apartment we used to rent (it was a basement apt.)
We used the spray, too. Good luck!
