Crashing....Spotting before AF
Not sure where else to post this but
Does anyone here spot before AF for a few days?
Most of the time I only spot the day before than AF comes in Full force but this month I started spotted 2 days before AF was due and AF didn't show until 2 days after she was due so a total of 4 days spotting. The spotting is very very light and only when I wipe TMI
I'm usually pretty consistent with a 28-30 day cycle and this month I went to day 32. Is this a problem? It doesn't happen every month maybe like once a year but I read that spotting before AF can be a sign of progesterone deficiency.

Re: Crashing....Spotting before AF
I don't usually but this past cycle I spotted 2 days before AF. I've never heard of the progesterone thing but that's interesting.
Since AF was so light, have you considered taking a test to rule out pregnancy?

Re: Crashing....Spotting before AF
Thanks. No after the 4 days of spotting AF came down full force...it was just the spotting before hand that had me concerned.

Re: Crashing....Spotting before AF
that happens to me all the time. especially right before my period, which is my body's way of telling me that my period is about to come. i think it's the "old" blood that was not released from my previous period...it could also mean hormonal changes esp low progesterone
Changes in Hormonal Balance. All of the changes in a woman's menstrual cycle are due to alterations in the progesterone/estrogen balance.
Timing. If you have spotting that occurs around the time of ovulation (ten to fourteen days after the start of your last period), it is likely due to the increased estrogen in your system at this time.
Spotting that occurs several days to one week before one's menstrual cycle can be due to low levels of progesterone, which while not a problem in and of itself, can cause infertility or early miscarriage in the event that one is trying to become pregnant.
Spotting that shows up at other times in your cycle is more likely to be abnormal spotting.

Re: Crashing....Spotting before AF
I tend to spot a lot -like 4-5 days before AF is due. Last time we were TTC, I took 200mg B6 and Agnus Castus (also called Vitex) - it helped a lot. Started taking it in August and I got pregnant my October cycle. HTH>
