Crashing: Pediatrician recommendation
Hi Ladies! Sorry to crash. I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant and not sure when and how to go about finding a pediatrician. We live in New Hyde Park and would love any recommendation you ladies could make. Did you go to the office prior to giving birth to meet with the doctor or just wing it based on recommendations? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Where are you delivering? You might want to pick a ped who is associated with your delivery hospital so they can vist your LO when born and start from day one. Not a must but it's nice for them to be there from the start.

I live in Great Neck and we use MD's 4 kids. They are right on northern blvd and are associated with Winthrop, NSUH and LIJ. So they were perfect for us. I am also really happy with them.
One practice that was also recommended to me was ProHealth in New Hyde Park, but they didn't take my insurance.

Dr. Martocci is Garden City. He is right on Franklin Avenue and I've been very happy with him!

I'm delivering at Winthrop....that's definitely a good idea to make sure they are affiliated...thanks

Without a doubt, Arnie Chusid. He is huge in your area.
I travel 20 minutes to see him.
I cannot say enough good things about this man. Solo practice, there is never a wait when you are there for an appointment, they always are accomodating and squeeze you in whenever. He works 365 days a year.
He is on Hillside Avenue in Williston Park (right across from TR's Steakhouse)

We use Winthrop Pediatrics, which is right across the street from the hospital, and absolutely LOVE them! We see Dr. Theriot who is phenomenal. She is so SO good with kids, has such a calm manner, and ALWAYS starts and ends every appt. by asking us if we have any questions and will take as much time as we need to answer all of them. My son went to the ER when he was 6 weeks old and she was not on that day, but when she came in the next day and found out, she called us to see how he was doing. Can't say enough good things!

im a ped dietitian and i 100 and 50% recommend Dr. Rubin in Mineola - happy and health ped.
She is amazing ped, and has an amazing office - she is also a lactation consultant. She has a yoga room, nursing room in her practice. She is just the best, and always talks to you!
I also recommend Dr. Cadet in westbury. She is fantastic also.

WHen we were living in LI we used Park Pediatrics on Jericho Tnpke. in Floral Park. We loved them!
ETA: I delivered my DS and DD at LIJ.
