Crashing--Diaper Question

Hi ladies, sorry to crash but I have a question about diapers.

A friend of mine is pregnant with her first baby. Her shower is coming up in a couple of weeks. I already got her gifts from her registry but I also want to make her a diaper cake. There are so many brands/types of diapers. What do you ladies recommend??

Pampers Swaddlers, size 1.....DD and DS both started off on them and stayed in them. I say size 1 because they really outgrow the newborns quickly and it took me a while to even open my diaper cake (liked how it looked).

I used Pampers Swaddlers for my friends cake. (Size 1 also I think.)
When DS was first bron, swaddlers were the ones we liked best.

I always use swaddlers size 1 and sometimes 1 tier of nb for my diaper cakes

Do you think she is actually going to use the diapers? I have a huge diaper cake from my shower that was adorable and I did not want to open it. I ended up never using the diapers and now it's just for show.

I would say if that was the case, to save money and get store brand diapers.

If you think she will use them, I agree with the others posters on pampers swaddlers.

My diaper cake had all huggies diapers in it, mostly size 1s and some size 2s. I've used all the size 1s from the cake and am planning to use all the size 2s as well.

I still haven't picked which diapers I like the best. The pampers swaddlers have a chemical smell that bothers me, but it doesn't bother DD. Luvs I find that DD notices when they get full quicker and cries. Pampers baby dry she seems ok with but I don't love them. I like the huggies but lately she seems to have a red bum if I use them too many times in a row. Target diapers I find to be exactly like the Luvs.

I don't know... I thought I had it figured out and was switching to huggies, but now I'm on the fence again and probably will keep swapping around diapers every few changings...

My point is: use whatever diapers you want or find or think look cute. Hospitals use pampers swaddlers so if you use those, she'll probably use them. I'm planning to make a diaper cake for a friend's shower in late April and plan to just use whatever diapers I have leftover (which is honestly what I think my friend did for mine). As long as it looks cute, I don't think it'll really matter which you use.
