Craigslist Question?

We're selling an elliptical. I get an email that started "Dear Sir or Madame".
Would you be suspicious? I was but the questions about the machine were legit.
I have a feeling it's going to end up as a scam. Who uses Sir or Madame in email? Chat Icon

Re: Craigslist Question?

maybe the person was just being very polite? If they were asking legitimate questions about your elliptical I would answer them and see what happens.

I did.
I'm curious to see what comes next.

This is what I expected but we went back and forth all day providing info on the elliptical, etc.
It came down to transporting it. Person said they had a small SUV rental until tomorrow. Took measurements of the back and we measured the elliptical.
DH offered to take it apart so it would fit but I said they had to commit to buy (they seemed interested enough).
Then the reply was don't want you to go to any trouble thanks for the information. Chat Icon
I didn't give any personal information.
