 | Craig's List job ads Do you think a lot of them are scammy jobs? For some reason, I have sent e-mails in response to many jobs and we get an auto response that asks us to complete an online application at such and such a web site and them it's this weird application- the same for all these particular jobs and one of the questions is "Cell phone carrier"
So once I get redirected to this type of web site I X out and forget it but this is happening allllll the time. What should I make of it? Stop looking for jobs on Craig's List?

 | Re: Craig's List job ads I noticed the same thing. A lot of the jobs that have gmail email addresses have that auto response. I thought it was a way recruitment agencies would get more people looking for work. My friend got one asking her to do a credit check which she was definitely not doing without a face to face meeting first.
In a few days I think I sent out about 200 resumes and have not heard back from 1 person. IT IS SO ANNOYING
        !!!!

 | Re: Craig's List job ads I asked about this awhile ago and no one answered me but I know EXACTLY what you mean. Someone DID call my dh back and wanted to do a 45 min. interview over the phone (it was NOT a company though). He was in the middle of cooking so they told him to call them back.I don't even bother anymore when I see those ads because it seems like a scam to me.

I have been putting my dh's resume in EVERYDAY on craigslist and other places and it is VERY frustrating!!

 | Re: Craig's List job ads Although a lot of the stuff is scam, I found my job through CL. I made sure that the positions that I did apply had a valid company name as the email contact. Once I checked the email, I did a google search to see if it was a legitimate company.
 GL with your search.

 | Re: Craig's List job ads Yep unfortunately they are all scams. I pointed this out to Craigslist and wrote a complaint of how it is really wrong to do this especially when there are desperate people out there. Plus I asked what do these companies do with our resumes. It is a privacy issue. I no longer use Craigslist because of this.
Use indeed.com it searches alot of job sites at once. The link goes straight to the companies site.
