Coxsackie question.......

How long after exposure does a child develop symptoms?

We got a note in the kid's folders today that they may have been exposed. They don't say if it was a child in our class though Chat Icon

So now I just being cautious.......this stinks Chat Icon

3-5 days I believe.

Fever, reduction in appetite are the first signs. Hang tight.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

This is what they say but dd started showing symptoms about 6 days after exposure.

ETA: I noticed a blister first and then she ran a fever a few hours later. She felt better within 3-4 days although she was contagious for about 7-8.

Re: Coxsackie question.......

Thanks Barb - it just stinks that I don't know if it was a kid in her class or just some random kid in another classroom.

My mom came home from the rehab center today from her knee surgery and I wanted to see her and now I can't Chat Icon

You can see your mom. It's spread through saliva usually. It isn't airborne so being in the same area as someone doesn't mean that person will get it.

Lori - I just sprayed down out whole house and wiped all the toys down. I hope Ava and Jack and my kiddies don't get this. Chat Icon

Also - Make sure Ava and Jack do not share cups or anything.
