Re: Coxsackie & Sesame/Dutch

I'm reading up on this and apparently coxsackie can live on surfaces for days. I think it's kinda crazy to "know" you got it at a certain place if this is the case. Maybe you were on vacation and picked it up at a public restroom, from the booth at a restaurant, a random door handle, etc.
We've been to Dutch twice and only used the hotel pool. DD also goes to daycare and we've never had coxsackie. I say go and have a good time. Use normal hand washing techniques (I always prefer soap and water over purell unless it's not available) and just hope for the best.
Yup I tend to agree. If you think you are going to avoid cocksackie, flu, stomach viruses, pink eye, etc. etc. etc then you will have to put yourself and your family in a plastic bubble sealed with Lysol and never come out You have to live. I once got a HORRIBLE case of pink eye a few years ago. In both eyes. I have NO idea where I got it. The Dr said to me, you could have picked it up on a door handle, shopping cart, ATM, gas pump, public bathroom, anywhere. Literally anywhere. It's impossible to pinpoint. The only thing you can do is be diligent with hand washing, etc
